i played a necromancer from start to finish for both diablo 2 resurrected and diablo 3 ultimate. diablo 3 was more fun in every single way! the combat, the story, the quests, the pacing, the co op, things to do, the difficulty adjustments… literally everything was a better experience than diablo 2. i loved that item appearances can be changed Builds became just "click to delete hundred monsters“. It became all about speed, which turned D3 from an arpg into a racer. Similar to what happened to PoE, but Blizzard embraced the zoomzoom meta, which made it enjoyable for some players, but less enjoyable for fans of classic arpgs. Diablo 2 has 3 difficulties (normal, nightmare, hell), which are all the same story content and quests, just with tougher monsters and better loot. The progression to end game involves essentially beating the campaign 3 times. Diablo 3 has a campaign mode, and an adventure mode. Campaign takes you through the story of D3.
Once you've finished Diablo II you are able to play hardcore mode. When you die, your character is permanently killed and unplayable. Your character will wear a robe once killed and you can still participate in b.net conversations etc. In games with similar modes, you will be rewarded whilst playing. For example:
First of all, let me just say that I played all the Diablo games, including D2 when it first came out and it was my favorite game by far. After playing D2R a week, the novelty is quickly wearing out and the game feels very dated. The new graphics is better, but still doesn’t come close to D3. The character movement is clumsy, more like I controlling these stick figures. Game play, attacking
The only "difficult" part they'll face is Diablo in Normal because your Skeletons don't have enough life to survive all his AoE attack, but only normal difficulty. In Nightmare/Hell they'll have more than enough life. After that, it's easy. You won't die unless you run up to enemies for some reason.
